Rat Supplies? Do I have Everything?

sounds good, although personally i dont go with care fresh for my bedding. i have found that yesturdays news cat litter (unscented) is best for keeping smell down, and comes out cheaper in the long run. (its pelleted recycled newspaper and absorbs like no other!) i work in a petstore where we keep our rats on carefresh, and constantly changing it everyday. ive also had some ppl i know do a mix of carefresh and yest. news. but other then that what you have started in your list sounds great! rats are a riot to keep (i bought my 4yr old daughter 2 for xmas, and i swear they were the perfect pet for her. they wont bite her no matter what, and they run to her all the time. ) also with the shoe box, as long as you have a bunch of them laying around, its ok (although watch if theyre cardboard, cardboard is made with glue, and not good for rats). reason being, rats cant control where they "go" so the shoe box can get saturated rather quickly, and be pretty smelly within a few days. i found the plastic igloos work well, since they dont absorb waste, and they are easy to wash. other then that GOOD LUCK!!! i would be sooo excited goin out to pick out rats (the ppl at work always bring me over to see the new young rats that come to my work, to try and get me to buy them so they dont become snake food.....)
