Can I take activated charcoal pills if I'm on the Nuva Ring?

I read that taking charcoal can interfere with the absorption of medication but I'm hoping it's okay to take since the Nuva Ring is not taken orally. Anyone know if it will interfere? I definitely don't want to take any risks when it comes to birth control! Please only answer if you know the answer- no guessers. Thanks!
