Can anyone suggest why my dog has started to scrabble frantically at the door at night?

She has only started doing this for the last two nights and has never destroyed anything in the past. Her routine has not changed and nothing out of the ordinary has happened to spark off this behaviour.This is totally out of character for her and I would appreciate any suggestions as to why she is doing this.
